How COVID-19 is Affecting what Houses are being sold

With more people working from home everyday due to the pandemic, now is a great time to upgrade your living space. While COIVD-19 continues to rage on throughout the world, children are now learning from home right next to mom and dad. Needs are constantly changing, making office space, larger lawns and enclosed floor plans are a highly requested feature.

Many homeowners are now experiencing times where there is very little private space to conduct business from their homes due to the lack of an office. Students are now opting to being homeschooled which then makes the little private space practically obsolete.

Outside of education and career affairs, some homeowners find that their house is lacking in outdoor space as well. Homeowners are currently moving to rural areas for work, better schools, retirement and even lower population levels. Since people are still working from home, moving to a rural area has become a possibility as you no longer may need to live close to your place of work or local schools.

As stated before, now is a great time to buy and sell your home, regardless of the current pandemic. The first step to staring your home buying journey is to contact a Realtor® and tell them what you are looking for. Realtors® understand that people are currently looking for homes to accommodate your current needs.

Having conversations with your Realtor® about what features you need for your new home will help them find more options for you and narrow down the choices for your convenience. Whether you are looking for a home in a rural area, more square footage for that additional office or workstation, or even a closed floor plan, your Realtor® will be your ally in this entire process.

It is understandable that some may hesitate to start the homebuying process due to the fear of the virus, but try to remember that your Realtor® has most likely implemented standards to put buyers at ease. From virtual showings, mandatory masks and onsite sanitations, your safety and comfort will always be a priority.

If you are ready to move out of your current home and upgrade your living space, you can contact a Realtor® to start the first steps of homebuying. Do not be afraid to state your preferences and must-have features and let your Realtor® help you find the best home that fits your needs while also catering to your best interests.
