What Are REALTORS® doing to help keep you safe?

As I mentioned in last week’s article homes are still selling fast amidst this pandemic. Don’t be afraid to list your home for sale. If you’re thinking about selling, call your favorite REALTOR® today and discuss how we can get your home sold while still keeping you safe.

We respect the Governor’s mandate to wear a mask when visiting a retail store, restaurant, or other place of business. REALTORS® understand your home is your private safe sanctuary away from the outside world. We also understand the need to keep your home and family safe.

Discuss with your REALTOR® your expectations of how people enter and view your home. You can request that agents and clients wear masks and gloves, remove shoes, and even limit the number of people at one time. Your agent may provide hand sanitizer, shoe coverings, and face masks to potential buyers. Maybe you just want virtual showings? We have many tools available from videos, photos, 3D layout programs, virtual open houses and showings without buyers taking a step inside.

During this pandemic REALTORS® have not been doing business as usual. For many of the actions I mention above agents themselves are already implementing.

REALTORS® often use an online showing service to schedule showings on your home. While this may not be new, the updated default setting is to not allow overlapping showings on your home. This limits the showing time to one agent and their clients rather than allowing multiple agents and clients in your home at the same time. So how does this work when so many people want to look at your home? We can also limit the showing time to 30 minutes. This allows for multiple showings in one day while still maintaining social distancing.

Many REALTORS® offer the ability to sign listing documents online. No sharing of a pens or filling out paperwork. It can all be done electronically from your computer or other smart device.

Once your home is under contract and it’s time for inspections, title work, surveys, and financing, you may be surprised to learn many of these services can also be completed electronically. REALTORS® have the ability to make this process as hands on or hands off as you are comfortable with.
